Reporting from home base in Scotsdale, Arizona, Hidenet publisher Don Ohman notes that fresh green prices in Brazil remained unchanged this last week with TR1 wet blue steadt at 95 US cents to US$1.

In Argentina prices remain steady in the face of a lower kill but tanners are expecting a quieter time as Chinese New Year approaches on 16 February when Chinese and Asian businesses shot down for a week.

In Europe the weaker US dollar continues to make US wet blue attractive for tanners. Calf remains very firm for the best selections but smaller skins are more difficult to mobe. There are signs that European lamb skin prices are recovering.

In North America cows remain under pressure but benchmark Texas steers are steady. Despite the government shot down Hidenet expects the hide inspection service for exports to be open.
